Residential Roller Shutters for Melbourne Homes

Sleep better, stay cooler and close your home off at the touch of a strap or switch. We make residential roller shutters for bedrooms, living areas, sliding doors and street-facing windows — measured, made and installed by our own Melbourne team.

Why homeowners choose them

How roller shutters improve everyday living

  • Better sleep

Darken bedrooms fully for shift workers, young children and long summer evenings.

  • Year-round comfort

Keep summer sun off the glass and hold warmth in during Melbourne winters.

  • Total privacy

Close street-facing rooms off completely — no heavy curtains needed.

  • Peace of mind

A solid physical barrier over windows and doors when you're out or away.

Around the home

Where roller shutters make the biggest difference

Most homeowners start with the rooms where heat, light or privacy bothers them most.

  • Bedrooms

Blackout for better sleep and quieter nights.

  • West-facing living areas

Take the edge off harsh afternoon sun on large windows.

  • Sliding and patio doors

Close off large glass doors at night or while you're away.

  • Street-facing windows

Privacy and security for front rooms.

Choosing shutters for your home

Start with what you want the shutters to solve. Light and sleep problems point to bedrooms; heat problems usually point to west- and north-facing glass; security concerns point to ground-floor and rear openings that can't be seen from the street.

Then think about operation. Manual shutters suit openings you rarely change; electric shutters suit large windows, hard-to-reach openings and rooms where you'll raise and lower them every day.

  • Which rooms need blackout, privacy or heat control
  • Manual or electric operation for each opening
  • Colour to suit your home's exterior
  • Whether you'd like to see the shutters on your home first

AR402: our most popular shutter for Melbourne homes

Most of the homes we fit out get the AR402 profile from Ozroll's Rollashield Residential Curved Series. Each double-walled aluminium slat is filled with PU foam for insulation and finished on both sides, so it looks just as neat from inside as it does from the street.

The slat is 40 mm high and 9 mm thick, so the curtain rolls up into a compact headbox above the window or door.

  • Insulation from the foam-filled slat
  • Added security over windows and doors
  • Light control, from fully dark to partly open
  • Protection from sun, wind and rain
  • Helps dampen outside noise
  • Compact roll and headbox size

AR402 suits openings up to 3.6 m wide and 7.7 m² in area.

How they look on your home

Shutters are fitted to the outside of the window, so the colour and the position of the roller box matter. You can choose from twelve standard colours and mix and match the slats, headbox, guides and bottom bar to suit your brickwork, cladding and window frames.
