Commercial Roller Shutters details

A shutter that suits the way you trade

Commercial openings are usually wider and used far more often than the ones at home, so the shutter, how it operates and how it's installed all need to match the way your premises runs.

On the site visit we look at the size of each opening, how often it opens and closes, power access for electric operation and the level of after-hours security you need — then quote around that.

  • Opening size and mounting position
  • How often the shutter is used, and whether manual or electric operation suits
  • After-hours security for your frontage
  • Installation planned around your trading hours

Shopfront shutters built to take a knock: AE401

For shopfronts and other commercial openings we commonly fit Ozroll's AE401 Sentry Fireshield profile — a 40 mm curved aluminium slat in a 1 mm gauge, a heavier build than a standard home shutter.

It covers curtain widths up to 4.0 m on a standard guide (4.6 m with an extended guide) and areas up to 12 m², so it suits most retail frontages. We confirm the right size for each opening at the measure.

The same system has been tested to reach BAL 40 in its tested configuration — worth knowing if your premises is in a bushfire-prone area.

About BAL 40 roller shutters

Big openings and windy spots: StormShield HDF

Where a shutter needs more strength — larger shopfronts and outdoor or alfresco openings that cop the weather — we use Ozroll StormShield with its filled HDF profile (40 mm high, 9 mm thick).

It comes in unrestrained and restrained versions. Cyclone Category 3 is available when the HDF profile is combined with restrained guides; the unrestrained version still adds strength, but the cyclone rating only applies to the restrained-guide configuration.

  • Maximum width: 3.6 m (standard guide), 4.0 m (extended guide), 4.2 m (restrained guide)
  • Maximum area: 10 m²
  • Restrained or unrestrained, depending on the site

Maximum sizes are system limits; we check what suits each opening at the site measure.
